Labdhi Resorts is our wildlife-facing property in Masinagudi — a comfortable, welcoming base for guests who like their holiday to begin at first light. Come back to a hot breakfast, spend the middle of the day doing very little, and end it around the fire.

The property describes itself as a sanctuary among the emerald landscapes of the Nilgiris, and its connection to the Mudumalai wildlife landscape is the point of it. Rooms are warm and wooden rather than minimal; the restaurant is vegetarian; the evening ends around a fire rather than at a bar.

Our kitchen is vegetarian, and everything is cooked to order rather than held under a lamp. Expect proper South Indian breakfasts, comforting North Indian dinners, and tea whenever you would like some. Do mention allergies, timings or a Jain preference when you book rather than on the day — supplies come up the ghat road, so a little notice lets us feed you properly.

Very much so. The loft rooms are a hit with children, there is play equipment on the lawn and indoor games for the warm afternoons, and the kitchen is happy to cook simply for younger guests. We do ask that children stay with an adult outdoors after dark, since we share this landscape with its wildlife.
